  • IFMNT Level 2 Certificate of Training program in integrative and functional nutrition with Susan Allen, RD, CCN, after passing final exam and case study project, earned the privilege of calling myself a "certified functional nutritionist"

IFMNT is a practice area in dietetics that centers on a holistic, personalized approach to health and healing using evidence-based therapies such as whole foods, appropriate and high quality supplements, and mind-body modalities in clinical nutrition practice.

    This is a volunteer position, requiring full-time attendance at a four-day yearly family camp in addition to planning and occasional meetings during the year. Collaborated on development of camp menus, assisted with food preparation, served snacks, served as professional nutrition resource to the organization.

Employment History

Registered Dietitian, Legacy Healthcare/Black Hills Receivership, Rapid City, SD, May 2018-October 2019, full-time
​Worked as a dietitian at 3-4 skilled nursing facilities currently owned by Legacy Healthcare in Rapid City. These facilities were previously managed by Black Hills Receivership, LLC. At each facility, I provide oversight and support to dietary staff as well as support the management of clinical nutrition services and complete appropriate documentation in the medical record. I work to to ensure optimal nutrition care for each of the 200+ residents residing in the facilities that I support.

Youth & Family Services provides comprehensive, award-winning programs to more than 13,000 children and families each year in Rapid City and Western South Dakota. YFS is dedicated to supporting children in overcoming challenges by building a network of coordinated services that give them hope. Manage special diets, develop nutrition education programming, and provide direct nutrition services to children and families as needed.

Clinical Dietitian, Rosebud Comprehensive Healthcare Facility, Rosebud, SD, July 2014-March 2016 
This 35-bed comprehensive medical-surgical facility is part of the Indian Health Service (IHS), which provides medical and public health services to members of federally recognized Tribes and Alaska Natives. Provided inpatient and outpatient medical nutrition therapy.

Clinical Dietitian, Harborview Medical Center, Seattle, WA, May 2009 to June 2014
Harborview has a specific mission to care for Seattle and King County’s most vulnerable patients; it is also a Level 1 Trauma Center serving a four-state region with trauma, burn, and neurological/neurosurgical specialties. Provided inpatient medical nutrition therapy in acute and critical care.

Wellness Dietitian, MultiCare Health System Center for Healthy Living, Tacoma, WA, September 2008-June 2009. Participated in one-on-one weight management counseling, taught nutrition classes, promoted healthy living to the public, participated in corporate wellness programming.
